Every time someone says that...

Getting your website ready for Christmas
It has come around again and all to fast, Christmas is here.
Well not quite but it is time to be thinking about how your
website can make you top in the Christmas rush.
So what things should you be doing now on your website:
1) If you can deliver in time for Christmas shout about it.
There is nothing more reassuring to customers than "We will
deliver in time for Christmas". Especially to someone like me
who leaves everything to the last minute: icon_redface:
2) Special offers are a must at Christmas. Free delivery, buy
one get one free, 20% off etc. If you have special offers this
year make sure your website promotes this.
3) Decorations will get your customers in the spending mood. Why
do shops put there decorations up so early? The reason is this,
when you go into a shop during the year you generally purchase
necessities, at Christmas you start thinking about gifts for
others. Instead of being in the market for one item, you are
suddenly opened up to purchasing
many items.
Ideas for decorating your website: Logo modifications (snow
etc), a bit of subtle tinsel, a bit of snow on the edges. The
most important thing is that it looks professional.
4) Fun and games. How about a spot the snow man game - randomly
on your pages a snowman can appear, if your visitor clicks on it
they get a free gift with their purchase. There are many ideas
that will get your visitors talking and coming back.
5) The Christmas card - send all of your customers an e-mail
Christmas card and maybe a gift voucher.
The most important thing is that your website looks fresh and
professional and don't forget what ever you do make sure it is
reversible after Christmas.
